Kid Friendly
We are blessed to have many early child hood educators and folks knowledgeable to work with kids. It’s time to look at our kid areas in our building. Particularly Room 111, 112, 113 and 117.
- Are these spaces kid friendly?
- What goes on in a child’s mind when they come to these spaces? Is the space age appropriate? Is it fun for the kids?
- Environment is a huge message to kids and their parents. Are we sending the message we want to send?
- It’s challenging because of the multiple uses some of this space serves. Are there things we can do to help these spaces serve the kids ministry better?
I am inviting anyone interested in the congregation to form a group with me to consider this need. First meeting will be 30 minutes long, starting at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14. Let me know you can come or you are interested. The form below works well and is provided for your convenience. I’m looking forward to the discussion!

Our fabulous drama team is videoing for our skit production for VBS. I can’t wait to see the amazing things they will come up with. Anyone can help… we need lots of “crowds”!! Feel free to use the response box below to volunteer or ask questions.
Friday at 10:00 a.m. (7/19)
We are gathering at the Building to work on Craft Preparations, Decorations, and Blow Up Posters. We’ll scrap up some munchies including some Robin Helm cookies. Feel free to use the response box below to volunteer or ask questions.

Oklahoma Tornado Supplies Delivered! (and pictures)

Church Nursery
Center Road had a core of wonderful volunteers to provide care for Nursery aged children during Bible Classes and Worship Services. It gives mom and/or dad a chance to worship or serve and our volunteers provide excellent care for the kiddos in a beautiful room dedicated to the littlest ones.

First Vinton Woods A Success
We have been planning and looking forward to our first Vinton Woods Cookout! That occurred, yesterday, June 9. There was excellent attendance and a huge number of children who came – a few we knew and a lot of new folks. We had a great time and look forward to the next Cookout. Hope to see you there! Oklahoma Tornado Relief
We’ve only just begun the effort, but we are getting lots of encouragement about helping the folks in Oklahoma suffering from the recent tornadoes there. Life seems to move on, but for those who were hit by the storm, life equals disruption for years. Kokomo is still recovering from recent flood damage, but we’ve heard from lots of people in the community thanking us for this effort.
Here’s an update on our efforts.
- We are now receiving donations at Center Road. Those items will be loaded and transported on June 12. Details Here.
- We’ve been invited to First Friday in the Kokomo Downtown District on June 7th! We’ll be at the courthouse with a truck and trailer to receive supplies there. Special thanks to Carrie Hair of LeaderOne Financial Corp. for inviting us. Learn more about Kokomo Downtown’s First Friday.
- A group at Northwestern Elementary in Howard County are gathering school supplies the schools hit by the tornado.
- We planning a joint effort between Center Road church of Christ of Kokomo, and Green Valley church of Christ of Noblesville to travel to Moore, Oklahoma to help out. Details Here.

Walt’s House
Walt and Shirley are eternally grateful to everyone who has helped them with their flood damage.
There has been a large outpouring of support and help. At this point, their house will enter a construction phase as drywall must be cut out and other repairs made.
