Job hunting is not for the faint of heart. It is a quest. However, it doesn’t have to be dreadful. I am choosing to look at it as an opportunity and an adventure. I began talking with people from industry who were on the cutting edge who knew my work as well. I was encouraged by a great friend and leader to pursue project management. After a few white board drawings and meetings, I was convinced that not only could I do that job, but I HAVE BEEN doing that job for many years without the labels or proper tools.

The rest of my story is based in Kokomo, Indiana. Kokomo is a wonderful mid-size city recovering from significant ramifications from the ’08 recession. Some of the resources I mention have Indiana names, but I’m confident that similar help exists most places.
