There are many types of Project Managers. While the PMP is widely recognized, employers are looking not only for the PMP behind your name, but how you can utilize it and other tools to add value for their investment in you.

I believe having the PMP is helpful and knowing the concepts very helpful, but if you can couple it with something like finance, IT, construction, healthcare, etc. it will speak louder.
